Imapproxy isn't as complex as perdition. Authentication is carried
out by the back-end IMAP server, the proxy simply passes connections
through to that.
If you want to be able to choose a back-end server based on the user's
identity then according to the FAQ, it's done by starting multiple
instances of the proxy, each with it's own configuration file.
