I would first look at how many processes are running,
and if there is a
maximum files open limit: ulimit -a
(open files)
How many connections are active when this happens?
Thank you very much for this hint, my colleagues checked, and they had
set up systemd to only allow 512 concurrent instances. That has been
rectified, and things are running fine. Thanks again!
