I suspect MySQL would be faster but that for a table of
that size LDAP sould still be reasonable.
Just for the record, we've been successfully running a quite popular
mail service with ~100 000 accounts, and Perdition + OpenLDAP has been
our friend since 2003. No problems at all, Perdition processes and slapd
basically are sitting idle. OpenLDAP can be very fast, one just need to
take care it has proper indexes in place.
Same here with pretty much the same amount of users and time frame.
The L in LDAP does mean something after all and if properly configured
will beat the pants off a generic DB like MySQL.
