mmmh... what logfile="/var/log/ldirectord.log"says?
or ha.log...

I'm not sure... but look this sequence of commands for Debian:

usr/sbin/update-rc.d heartbeat start 75 2 3 4 5 . stop 05 0 1 6 .
/usr/sbin/update-rc.d -f heartbeat remove
/etc/init.d/heartbeat stop
/etc/init.d/ldirectord start

In this case (http://www.ultramonkey.org/3/topologies/lb-eg.html), may be the opposite of
what I told you before: I was referring to my config, where heartbeat start ldirector, but
here ldirector starts and then heartbeat come started...

Are you using CentOS ?

Diego
