[ULTRAMONKEY-USERS] Load Average always 1

Hi all!

I've just followed the instruction on the ultramonkey web site to
configure a system for high availability and load balancing, as the one
showed here http://www.ultramonkey.org/3/topologies/ha-lb-eg.html

The only difference between my configuration and the one showed at that
page, is that I used the new Debian Etch distro, so there is no need to
install ultramonkey package, but I only have installed the separate
components:

apt-get install ipvsadm ldirectord heartbeat

and then followed the whole porcedure.

Great! Everthing seem to work fine. But.. and this is the reason of this
email... after some minutes the active node load average starts to grow
(even though there is no traffic !).

After some time so the load average of the machine shown by "top"
command is "1.00, 1.00, 1.00".

Even if I stop all the services (eg: /et c/init.d/heartbeat stop) the
average continue to be "1.00, 1.00, 1.00", of course in both cases the
cpu load is 0,00%.

On the inactive node, load is correctly 0 0 0, but when it becomes
active, starts to grow as the previous example and stopping all don't
change the load: always 1,1,1.

I've tried the configuration on different hardware, with different
kernel, corresponding to the hardware, but the result is the same....

Any suggestion? What is happenig?

An other question: there is a way to read the mail archives of this list?

Thaks in advance!

Diego

PS: all the used machines are dedicated balancers, so no other service
is running on them...
